When developing plugins and content elements in TYPO3 the output is glued quite stiffly to the domain model and controller. Separating the code logic from the frontend output not only increases the reusability of components but also helps building a living styleguide, rendered from production code, and helps the integrators to overview all available frontend elements conveniently.
